KAMLOOPS, B.C. — For more than 14 years, Ken Olynyk helped to shape the program that is now the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. Along with leading the ‘Pack, Olynyk also helped to develop youth and community sports in the Kamloops area.
Olynyk retired earlier this year, and we were given the opportunity to talk to him about his time as TRU athletic director and his favourite moments with the WolfPack.
People will always remember what Olynyk has done for Thompson Rivers University, but earlier in his career, he was also a spectacular athlete in volleyball and basketball. After his collegiate basketball career, Olynyk transferred to coaching, eventually becoming a bench boss for the University of Lethbridge and later head coach at the University of Toronto, during this time he also coached the Canadian junior national team.
