Noah Gregor (21) pulled the Royals back ahead by one at 8:29, but Lind (31) tipped in his second of the afternoon on the power play at 19:07 to tie things up once again before the period was out.

At 4:03 of the middle frame Dillon Dube (25) gave the Rockets their first lead of the afternoon before Carsen Twarynski (35) extended that lead to two at 8:09. Gordie Ballhorn (4) scored on a Rockets power play to make it 5-2 at 13:52. Tyler Soy (29) responded for the Royals before the period was over and Kelowna held a 5-3 lead heading into the final period.

Andrei Grishakov (18) scored on a Royals power play to cut the Rockets lead to one at 11:01 of the third. Midway through the period there was a collision into Rockets goaltender James Porter and Brodan Salmond entered the game in Porter’s relief to finish the afternoon. Salmond shut the door on the Royals for the remainder as the Rockets skated to a 5-4 victory.

Kelowna enjoyed multi-point evenings from Lind (2G, 1A), Dube (1G, 2A), Kyle Topping (2A), and Cal Foote (2A).

Porter’s record improves to 19-7-3-0 after stopping 21 of the 25 shots he faced. Salmond made one save on one shot as the Rockets outshot the Royals 35-26.

Kelowna’s record improves to 34-17-4-1 as they retake sole possession of first place in the B.C. Division.

The Rockets are back home again at 7:05 p.m. PT Wednesday for a showdown against the Red Deer Rebels.
