PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Jermaine Loewen scored with 40 seconds left in the third period to help the Blazers to a 3-2 victory in Prince George.

Ryley Appelt opened the scoring in the first period to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead. The Cougars replied with back-to-back goals to take the lead. Jackson Shepard tied the game for the Blazers as the two teams were 2-2 through 20 minutes.

After a scoreless second period, the Blazers were forced to kill a 5-minute power play in the third period. The Blazers got a late power play and Nolan Kneen made a great play to the net with Loewen on the doorstep to tap home the winner.

The Blazers were 1-for-3 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill. Dylan Ferguson earned the win with 26 saves.

These two teams will play again on Saturday night in Prince George.
