15-year-old Josh Pillar to debut with Blazers on Wednesday against Chiefs

KAMLOOPS, B.C. (from Kamloops Blazers) – The Kamloops Blazers have added 15-year-old Josh Pillar to the roster. He will wear No. 12 and make his WHL debut at home Wednesday against the Spokane Chiefs.

Pillar was the Blazers’ first-round pick, 14th overall in the 2017 WHL bantam draft. The Warman, Sask., native is playing this season with the Prince Albert Mintos Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

The 5-11 and 160-pound right-shot centre leads the Mintos in scoring with 20 goals, 25 assists and 45 points in 39 games. He is 12th in league scoring and first among all first-year players.

Pillar will practice with the Blazers on Tuesday and be returned to the Mintos after the game Wednesday night.
