CALGARY (from Alpine Canada) – Erin Mielzynski (Collingwood, Ont.) continues to lead the Canadian women’s tech team
and shine in slalom. In today’s race in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, Mielzynski captured her second top-10 result of the season, finishing in eighth place.

Mielzynski was sitting in ninth-place after the first run. She put down an aggressive second run and despite a few baubles
that set her back, she made up time in some sections, netting out in an eighth-place finish. Mielzynski adds this to her
season-best seventh-place finish, along with two other top-15 finishes. She heads into the Olympics ranked 20th overall in slalom on the FIS World Cup circuit.

Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova took first-pace in a time of 1:50.53 with Sweden’s Friday Hansdotter in second place. Wendy
Holdener made Swiss fans proud, finishing in third-place.

With just 11 days to go before the opening ceremonies at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, this weekend marked the last
races for Alpine Canada athletes who are headed back to home for some training, rest and to recharge.
