Ferguson stands tall as Blazers clip Hitmen

CALGARY (from Kamloops Blazers) – The Kamloops Blazers held off a late push from the Calgary Hitmen for a 2-1 road win Friday night at the Saddledome.

Luc Smith and Quinn Benjafield had the goals for the Blazers as both goals came in the last two-and-a-half minutes of the second period.

Vladislav Yeryomenko scored for the Hitmen in the third period.

Goaltender Dylan Ferguson had a great night with 32 saves including stopping 19 of 20 shots in the third period.

The Blazers finished the night 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Hitmen were 1-for-4.

The Blazers will head to Red Deer to play the Rebels on Saturday night.
